Exeter and Torquay offices raise over £4,500 for Devon charity

27th November 2023

We're delighted to announce that employees at our Exeter and Torquay offices have raised £4,505 for Devon Wildlife Trust.

Earlier this year, the two offices announced their partnership with Devon Wildlife Trust as their chosen charity of the year.

The firm, which delivers accounting, tax and advisory services to businesses, academies and charities and private wealth advice to individuals, held a charity quiz at Sandy Park on 23 November to support the work of the Devon-based charity.

The quiz was hosted by SpeedQuizzing, and each team play via an app on a smartphone or tablet.

A total of 30 teams representing various local organisations took part. The quiz winners were Michelmores.

Bishop Fleming's decision to support Devon Wildlife Trust reflects its commitment to being a responsible business and making a positive impact in the local community. In collaboration with Business in the Community, Bishop Fleming has developed a structured framework that helps the firm better understand its role and responsibilities in the community. This effort has resulted in its latest accreditation of being a Great Place to Work®.

The partnership with Devon Wildlife Trust helps Bishop Fleming and its employees to engage in meaningful community activities and contribute to a cause that aligns with its ambition and values.

Devon Wildlife Trust is a renowned charity dedicated to safeguard the future of the county’s urban, rural and marine wildlife and its environment. The Trust has been making a significant difference in Devon for 60 years and is the only Devon-focused Charity that exists to protect all wildlife in Devon, on land and at sea. Its commitment to protect our wildlife has garnered recognition and support from various organisations and individuals.

During the partnership, Bishop Fleming plans to raise an impressive target of £10,000 through joint fundraising activities. These initiatives will include various events such as the quiz, other activities and volunteering days.

According to Len Dean, Partner at Bishop Fleming:

"We are delighted to have selected Devon Wildlife Trust as our Charity of the Year. Its unwavering dedication to protect the wildlife and nature in Devon around us is something so many of us at Bishop Fleming care deeply about, and we are eager to support its vital work. Through our joint fundraising activities, we hope to make a meaningful difference to help our local wildlife."
