David is a Partner and Head of the Corporate and Business Services team within the firm.
He has worked for a wide variety of clients and has built a reputation for his pragmatic, commercial, no nonsense advice. His particular areas of expertise are what he calls the ‘non-Financial Director’ business sector; and property and construction. His qualifications include LLB FCA.
David believes that ‘non-Financial Director’ businesses have many common characteristics not detailed by their size. His own experience has put him very much at the sharp end of business, through a range of Non-Executive Director roles (he is currently Non-Executive Chairman of South West Investment Group services), a Trustee on a variety of business related family trusts and an owner-manager both in Bishop Fleming and – in a past life – managing a six partner accountancy practice.
Outside of work David is married with two grown up sons. He is a keen cricketer (playing every week during the season for a team he founded in the early 1990s) and walker. In 2013 he climbed Mt Kilimanjaro (Africa’s highest mountain at a shade under 6,000m/ 20,000 ft) and his current project is completing the 630 miles of the South West Coast Path.
