Stephen acts for corporations and their shareholders across a broad range of sectors, but with a particular interest in the hotel and leisure sector and financial services.
Stephen became a Chartered Accountant in 2008 and has over 10 years’ tax experience, his qualifications include ACA.
Some of the more esoteric areas that Stephen specialises in are employment related securities and share valuations, and he has extensive experience in working on due diligence projects.
“Quite often tax is an after-thought in M&A but it can represent a significant risk area for buyers. Tax is a constantly changing and increasingly complex landscape, so the sooner that tax is considered in a transaction, the less likely that unforeseen liabilities will arise.”
Stephen is a keen runner but admits that ‘keen’ doesn’t necessarily translate into talent, “I would describe myself as below novice standard”.
