Parents can register for the new tax-free childcare scheme via the government’s Childcare Choices website.
The scheme began on 28 April 2017 for parents of the youngest children. It is gradually being rolled out over the rest of the year, giving working parents who pay for childcare with a registered provider up to £2,000 per child per year, or up to £4,000 a year for a disabled child.
From September 2017, parents of three and four year old children living in England will also be able to apply for a new 30 hours free childcare offer, worth around £5,000 per child.
The Childcare Choices website includes a Childcare Calculator for parents to compare various childcare options.
The website also allows parents to receive email alerts to keep them abreast of developments with childcare schemes.
