The Coastal Communities Fund (CCF) was introduced in 2012 to support economic development of coastal areas across the UK.
The fund is operated by the BIG Lottery Fund on behalf of the Department for Communities & Local Government, and aims to encourage regeneration and economic growth through coastal projects that directly or indirectly create and safeguard sustainable jobs.
CCF Round 5 in England will have £40m available for spend from April 2019 to the end of March 2021.
Funding awards in excess of £50,000 are available for a wide range of applicant organisations and projects which benefit coastal communities. Coastal settlements include seaside towns, ports and other areas which have a clear connection to the coastal economy.
Consideration will be taken of how plans for economic growth address local needs and priorities, the number of jobs that will be created and their long-term sustainability. Applicant organisations include Local Enterprise Partnerships, Local Authorities, voluntary and community organisations, charities, CICs, other not-for-profit organisations, and private sector companies.
Round 5 has two separate funding routes, each with its own timetable.
Applicants must demonstrate that their proposal fits with the broad economic priorities of the local area, and is directly or indirectly linked to the CCF’s wider economic vision.
