What sets Andy apart?
Andy is an expert in corporate finance, providing the full range of advisory services to clients across all sectors. He specialises in financial due diligence (having completed more than two hundred buy-side and sell-side due diligence mandates) and in advising clients on their acquisition and disposal strategies.
Following thirteen years in audit and transaction support services, Andy moved into a full-time corporate finance advisory role with Bishop Fleming in 2003.
Alongside his corporate finance advisory work, Andy is also a specialist in share valuations. His work in this area mainly revolves around dispute resolution, for example in shareholder disputes or divorce. He has acted for clients in arbitration and mediation hearings, and for the Courts as expert witness.
With over twenty five years of Corporate Finance experience, Andy works with many clients in the manufacturing sector on their acquisition, growth and exit strategies.
Andy has a degree in Civil Engineering from Birmingham University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He is a member of the ICAEW’s valuations faculty.

Corporate Finance
- Andy provides advisory services on the full range of corporate finance activity including business sales and acquisitions, MBO’s, fundraising, outsourcing and strategy
- Recent projects on which Andy has worked include:
- Working with an international group on its acquisition of a medical components manufacturer
- Providing proactive advice to a newly-formed company on its public-to-private transfer of an existing NHS contract
- Advising a group of minority shareholders on their £30 million exit from a major drinks company
- Acting for the vendors of an engineering group on the sale of their business
- Provided buy-side due diligence on a London-based printing company
Other
- Andy has extensive experience in valuation matters including mergers and acquisitions, shareholder and matrimonial disputes, and valuations for tax planning purposes including share schemes and group reorganisations. Recent cases include:
- Appointed as single joint expert by the Court in a divorce case to provide opinion on valuation of husband’s shareholding in a motor retail group
- Advice to the estate of a minority shareholder in a dispute with the majority shareholder on share value, including hearings and arbitration
- Appointed by wife in divorce proceedings to advise on valuation of, and liquidity issues within, husband’s professional services firm
